If you live within the City of Aurora, visit any library location to sign up or you can apply online and receive your new account information by email. If you've moved recently, we may ask to see a current photo ID or proof of residency in person before approving your application.
We have additional membership options including:
Light of Learning Scholarship Cards – The Aurora Public Library District Foundation offers a limited number of scholarships for qualifying households. The scholarship covers all but $25 of the cost of a non-resident card. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Ages 18 or older – If you live outside the City of Aurora limits, in an area not served by another library (view information here), and participate in one of the following programs:
Federal assistance such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) or WIC (Women, Infants and Children)
Teachers who work at a school in the City of Aurora can sign up for a 1-year teacher card. Teachers have full access to the library’s collections including online resources. Teachers are also able to request special services like classroom loans, bookmobile visits, librarian visits, and library tours.
