Eola Road Branch
Celebrate Black History Month with professional storyteller Oba William King. King will share interactive stories, drumming, poetry, music and more.
Through traditional folk stories and drumming, King explores how the African-American community shares the joy of the struggle, acknowledges the perseverance, and honors those who never gave up in the quest to be fully recognized as true citizens of the United States of America.
Oba William King is an interactive Storyteller, presenting folktales, workshops, and festival performances since 2010 as a Member of The Illinois Arts Council Touring Roster. Through traditional art forms, Oba William King educates and entertains across the country. King engages his audiences with stories of freedom and its importance to the people previously held in bondage. He also engages his audiences with folktales of wisdom, courage, determination, purpose, and faith.
