Learn English with Library Resources

  • Mango Languages: Mango offers access to over 70 foreign language courses and 20 ESL courses. Mango can be accessed at the library, remotely, or even on-the-go with apps for iPhone® and Android™.
  • News for You: Easy-to-read news stories that can help you learn to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Seven news stories are posted each Wednesday, along with audio, exercises, vocabulary, a crossword puzzle, a word search, and a poll. Listen to each story in-full or sentence-by-sentence. Please enter 575968 in the box that says "Enter Your News For You Password." 
  • Read It: Helps English Language Learners (ELLs) succeed academically and in everyday life.

  • Waubonsee Community College – Courses are designed to help build basic skills to prepare for college-level courses, get a better job, or just live a better life
  • USCIS – Search by zip code to find an English or citizenship preparation class near you
  • Dominican Literacy Center – Offers citizenship classes for everyone and ESL classes specifically for women
  • World Relief – Offers English language training, in-home tutoring services, translations, basic adult literacy, and ESL education in a classroom setting
