              Technology

              Chromebooks

              Chromebooks are available to checkout for use in the library for two-hour increments and for use outside the library for one week. Chromebooks are available at the Courtesy Services/Circulation Desk on a first-come, first-served basis.

                • Customers are allowed to borrow one Chromebook at a time for 1 week (7 days) with no renewals.
                • A Chromebook may be checked out by a customer (11 years old or older) with a valid APLD card.
                • Customers may not install software on Chromebooks or alter/delete any settings or configurations.
                • Customers are responsible for damage to or loss of Chromebooks and accessories as a result of accident, theft, misuse or neglect.
                  • Customers are expected to report loss of or damage to the Chromebook or accessories to Courtesy/Circulation desk staff. Replacement cost for a damaged Chromebook may be between $200 and $300.
                • Customers should familiarize themselves with the Internet and Computer Use policy and all other applicable library policies.

                Hotspots

                Hotspots are also available at the library for 24/7 internet access from anywhere!

                  • A hotspot may be checked out by a customer (11 years old or older) with a valid APLD card.
                  • Hotspots can be checked out for 1 week.
                  • Hotspots are not eligible for renewal.
                  • All components (hotspot, cord, charger, and two piece case) must be present upon return for the library to consider the item checked in.
                  • Please return Hotspots to a staff member at the Courtesy Services desk.
